fasting[1]

I am in the mid-phase of my water fast and have changed a few things to my daily routine. First, I now take two hour naps after I make the girls lunch every day. I had no choice. My irritability, mood swings, energy level and achiness were getting progressively worse. I was snapping at everyone early in the morning and late in the afternoon. I now barely make it to my naps and afterwards feel invigorated and ready to finish the day with a smile on my face. Anyone attempting a fast must understand that going somewhere they are alone and away from people is a tremendous benefit.

I also recommend if you have children to seek out help from family members or friends. It’s important they understand your quest and will support your endeavor.

Only bring people into your life that supports the fast. The very last thing you need during your fast is someone constantly saying, “Just quite, you’re only hurting yourself.” Negativity like this will only ruin the benefits of your fast and cause you pain. If you need to do a fast and the people in your life will not issue support; you either need to do a better job explaining the benefits or question their loyalty and trust.

The benefits far outweigh the negative effects of the fast. I have basically reversed the aging process (the crows feet around my eyes are gone), lost 60 pounds, my teeth are white and even the small varicose veins on my legs are almost gone. These are just a few of the outer effects of the fast; I was also pre-hypertension and now I’m not and my pulse is almost half of what it was before the fast. These are all the benefits of fasting for any period of time. I recommend attempting a fast, under your PCP supervision, when you are ready – and only you know that answer.
